Young elephant figurine

Endearing and curious, the young elephant explores its environment under the watchful eye of the herd. At birth, it already weighs around a hundred kilograms but remains entirely dependent on its mother and the other females in the group for food and to learn the rules of social life.

Very playful, it uses its trunk to explore, spray itself with water, or practice manipulating objects. A surprising fact: elephant calves suckle until they are 2 to 3 years old, but continue to feed on breast milk even after they have started eating grass. Protected within the heart of the herd, it grows up surrounded by its peers, gradually learning to become a full member of the clan.

This Papo figurine tenderly and realistically reproduces the young elephant: large expressive ears, a mobile trunk, and a lively posture. An ideal model to complete a collection of wild animals, invent touching stories, or teach children about the fascinating social life of elephants.
