Hannibal Lecter first appeared on screen in 1991 in the hit film The Silence of the Lambs. The film tells the story of Clarice Starling, a young FBI trainee who seeks advice from Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a brilliant psychiatrist and imprisoned cannibalistic serial killer, to apprehend another serial killer, known only as "Buffalo Bill," who skins the corpses of his female victims. Sounds gruesome, doesn't it?
