Peter in 1941, she is Princess Diana, an Amazon demigoddess from Themyscira, Paradise Island, and daughter of Zeus and Hippolyta, the queen of the Amazons. Her origin story has been altered many times throughout the years; Diana has been a nurse and a military intelligence officer, an agent of the American government, an ambassador, among many other roles, in addition to being an Amazon warrior. Despite changes in her backstory and appearance, her essence as the greatest of female superheroes has always remained the same: going to the so-called world of men to promote and defend peace and justice. With superhuman powers and abilities, and her mystic Lasso of Truth, she is part of the Trinity in the DC universe alongside Superman and Batman, serving as the balance point between the two heroes with often conflicting ideologies.
